Hi all, Im backing up some of my dvd's but I cant make them play. I use dvddecryptor and dvdshrink. After that I use Roxio 6 to burn. I use the Creator Classic then burn as Data. Ive tried Nero 6 but I dant have a plugin for it. Ive burned about 10 dvd's in total. They only work on my PC and a NEW cheap dvd player. My two other dvd players cant read them(one being a DVD burner home player the other a 400 dvd system) The only backups that my dvd players can read were made by dvdxcopy express. Those read like a charm! So, what am I doing wrong!!!!????? Please help. Im guessing its the burning process. Thnks to everyone who helps!!!

Well Roxio isnt a good program to use to burn dvd movies under a data burn. I would recommend RecordNow Max or DX. Seems thats the only thing you need to change for them to work correctly.

Thnks TylerDurden, I dont have those s/w's. I decided to get the plugins for nero 6. Do u know how to make dvd's with nero after using DVDshrink???? Where and how to???Thnks again!
use dvd shrink then start nero 6 and select dvd video then drag all the files made by dvd shrink into the video_ts folder and burn. theats how i burn all my dvds. or you could just have dvd shrink burn the movie for you

dont think its a burning prob, sounds like folder name, as u say it plays in pc and a cheap dvd player.
try using recordnow max, data disc insert a VIDEO_TS folder with all your files in and an empty folder named AUDIO_TS if that dont work then it might be a fault whilst ripping the movie, then its a whole new problem.
Sounds like you are not putting the image in to a VIDEO_TS folder (and the folder must be in higher case letters)
Dvdshrink already creates the folder for you during the process all you have to do is decide where you are going to put the image and create a folder there beforehand (Ie:- the film name)
You can also deselect burn using nero in the dvdshrink program before imaging the disc (advisable) even though i have used this program with no problems.
Then use a proggie like 'record max now' or as it is now know 'sonic my dvd' select create a data disc then load in you film file and open the video_ts folder and then burn.
You data file should read something like C:\My film name\VIDEO_TS
