Here's one for u all.
I was attempting to back-up my World Championship Rugby game and as i have done many times in the past , put the original in the dvd/rom and using Record Max now 4.5 imaged the disc and burned it with my lite-on dvd/rw but when i tried tp play it in my ps2 it did not recognize the disc.
So after much mumbling i discovered that when i checked the size of the global image in the disc explorer and the one seen when using the dvd/rom was smaller than if i used the dvd/rw.
Now i know what you think so i changed the dvd/rom for a new one but the results were the same.
For your info the dvd/rom is running as slave on my primary ide cable with the h/d and the dvd/rw is running as master on secondary ide.
I have a 1.4ghz athalon with 256ddr memory and a 60gig h/d running xp-pro
I have used the dvd/rw to do both processes and got a good back-up so no problem there...but a little annoyed that i may have wasted money on a dvd/rom i don't need.
Wondered if any of you peeps could shed any light on the subject???
Cheers in advance.

Try updating your firmware, and see if that helps.

Cheers for reply ..but i have got the latest firmware but i have another puter with the same dvd/rom (well a slightly earlier model) and that sees the whole disc no problems....so i've deduced that it's either my ops system causing the problem or the configeration having my dvd/rom on the same isde as my h/d.
Will have to open up my other unit and see how it is configured and see if that is the problem.
Will get back and let you know.
Cheers for your reply once again.

I'm having a similar problem with my LG at the moment. They said to ring CS to sort it out. You could try the following, to see if theis helps. It usually does...

1. Uninstall the drive from Device Manager
2. Turn off the computer and unplug the IDE cable from the drive
3. Reboot the computer and let Windows start up fully
4. Shut down the system and replug the IDE cable
5. Reboot the system and let Windows reinstall the drivers
6. Restart for the final time and try again.

What this does is force Windows to reinstall the drivers for the device and maybe this will work for you.

Cheers for the help lfcfan have give that a try but still getting the same problem with it not reading the whole disc (well not registering all of it in stomp ) yet when i put the disc in my dvd/rw (lite-on ) it reads it all....strange
Keep getting a windows error message saying that a driver for a writing proggie has been disabled when i start up (easy cd creator) but i have uninstalled this program so i can't see whether that is causing the prob...but maybe

Cheers for your help
