"Knife Swap Method" HELP PLEASE

Hello All.
I have a V4 PAL console with a magic chip but cannot play a
large number of my backups (the chip must be outdated). I heard that you can play all and every backup with the "knife swap method". So, if anyone can help me understand this method and how to boot both CD and DVD backups using this method, I'd be greatful. Thanks.

P.S. - I have AR2 v1.9

u mean the slide card it opens the ps2 door w/o letting the ps2 know its open it could kill the ps2 doing that but if u want to go that rout u can get a v4 no solder chip for $10 and do the sawping better then the knife trick and it will not mess the ps2 up also ur laser might be dieing that may be why it won't play many of the backups v4's are pretty old and are picky when playing dvd-rs but if u decide to get another solder chip i would invest in a new ps2 if i was u b4 buying and paying to get a solder job done.

A duo would cost you around hmm $20 american dollars?

Heck I call the swap magics Ghetto Magics, I think its appropriate. I also think Warlock is in the green on calling these slide cards by the same name.
