Dark Cloud 2 and Magic v 50k

I have a V9 ps2, and a magic v 50k, i think, i took it to a place and it was installed there.

Now my problem is that whenever I play dark cloud 2, the game doesnt work properly. It boots and all, but whenever i get into battle i can only do 1 damage.

So today i rented the original of dark cloud 2, and played that with the mod chip on, same thing happened. so i turned the chip off and the game plays fine.

Anyone else have this problem? has anyone fixed it, and is there maybe a better chip out for v9 ps2's than the 50k?

oh... sorry.

That is half of the problem though, because my ps2 won't play the original of the game properly either as long as the mod chip is turned on. So even if i did buy the game I couldnt back it up. Has anyone else that has a magic v 50k chip on a v9 ps2 gotten dark cloud 2 to work with the mod chip turned on?
