is there anywhere i can find a no dvd fix for this game yet?????
The one on GamwCopyWorld is a NoCD/NoDVD.
It's wrong labeled.
Just try it.
(This one works perfectly with Version 1.0 and 1.1 !!!)

I tried all of the available no cd /dvd fixes for Far Cry (found in gamecopyworld, megagames, etc...). None of them worked for me for some strange reason.
I have a DVD version of Far Cry. I copied the 32k fix over the original exe file. When I run the fixed file, it loads for a second and then nothing happens.
Does anyone have the same experience? Any ideas how I can fix this? (I've tried Far Cry 1.0 and Far Cry 1.1)

If you have the store-bought, and not a copy, of the game, there's no reason the game shouldn't load. Looks like you have a hardware issue.

as far as im aware there isnt a no-cd/dvd fix on any of the 3 regular sites , only fixed executables for backups........i was looking for a no-cd/dvd fix so i dont have to keep discs all over my restricted workspace (in the living room) thus saving me from a bollocking from my wife for it looking untidy!!!

What's the difference between a no cd/dvd fix versus a fixed executable? The game works when I revert to my original executable, but I need the disc inside the drive.
The 1.0 Deviance exe on GCW works fine as a no-DVD for me,even after patching to 1.1 as the 1.1 update doesn't seem to do anything to the single player exe file.
Loads of times I've had files from GCW labelled as fixed exe's that work perfectly as nocd's.
Like George_K suggested,perhaps it's a hardware problem.

I have a similar problem:
I bought the DVD version for my nephew (unfortunately forgetting he didn't have a DVD-drive yet :( ). So I used Daemon tools to install it. Now it continually says it hasn't been installed from a DVD  . I've Tried the Deviance option, but alas with the same results...
does anyone have any ideas about how to fix this problem?
Thanks :D

daemon tools doesn't install games it just emulates them.it can't be man i made it myself too it's working.

How did you manage that ?? If he doesn't have a DVD-ROM drive, you can't make an image to use with Daemon Tools... unless of course you made an image on your own computer and copied it to his harddrive and THEN mounted it... in which case it should work...
I did exactly that, since I only have a CD-RW drive in my PC, so I made an image on my girlfriends PC, moved it to my harddrive over the network and installed... works perfectly.

Nah, it really "only" emulates the drive and disc in it... it's no a game-emulator :D

Yup, that's exactly what i did: created an ISO on my portable HDD, then just plugged it on to his PC via USB, transferred the ISO and mounted via Daemon tools. Somehow Far Cry recognizes that this is an emulation though, it tells me so. Although, i haven't yet applied a patch yet, just the Deviance crack.
I'll try the patch and keep you informed.
Thanks for the help :D

PS: it installed ok, just told me that the game was mounted through emulation when he tried to play it  .
