My neighbor has a ver5 PS2. I put in a no-solder chip. These symptoms existed before i put this chip in. But anyway after you insert a game, close the tray and hit reset the tray will pause for like 4 seconds before continuing in. You can hear the lazer clicking and that. Now after you insert the swap magic dvd disc, your suppose to hold in the eject button until the light turn orange then tray comes out. The eject will turn orange but the tray will not come out. When it goes back to green light it will then eject. but after inserting the DVDr game, it wont boot it. It works on CD based games. It will also boot original DVD games. So i dont know if its the laser thats going bad and thats why it wont read DVDr or if its the no-solder chip. One other thing it does everytime is that either inserting an original game or the swap magic DVD disc it will always go to the browser screen where the stars are circling around then it will finally boot the disc. Kinda seems to be delayed. any ideas?

The fact that the light goes orange but the tray doesn't come out shows chip, as when it resets it's fine. The laser could also be going if it is slow to boot games. V5's are starting to show a little wear and tear themselves now :(

Yeah it sounds like the laser is getting weak.

Maybe its just dirty? Try running a laser lens cleaner in it.

LOL, WTF dose that have to with a PS2? So what are you trying to say? And its just under half the cost of the XBox it self (after it gets here to the US). I have seen the whole XBox go for over $400 on fleabay, so $150 for the case isnt bad.

Those XBoxes were such a pain to get over here, you have no idea.

$150 for a case? That’s Nuckin’ Futs !!! I paid $100 Canadian for my Xbox with a lovely duct tape case, the first owner was a tad rough!

Why waste your time and money on a no solder chip? Go ghetto all they way and run with no drive cover,
It doesn’t cost a cent! Tape a Kentucky F’n Chicken flyer over the port side to maintain proper airflow…Leave power / eject dangling of course! Just drop the white magnet on the opened CD or make a duct tape hinge for the magnet lid.

All right, you get just the case out of Europe for a decent price. Good luck to ya. Try to get any thing out of Europe at a decent price...

Okay, I'm nuts so what. But so is every one else. I found this on fleabay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=20387&item=3090199361&rd=1

As of right now it costs $1.83 USD to equal £1.00 GBP, so thats $183 USD. Than you have to have the thing shipped over, there gos another $40. So $150 isn't bad for a case, one thats all ready in the US at least.

bloody hell!!!!!!

that alot of money i could ship a case out and sell the inners on ebay and make **** loads of money like tripple the amount of the actualll box itself u can get about

50 quid for the mobo
30-70 for dvd rom
20 quid for the power supply
and 180$$$$ for the case

thats like 220-250 pounds i could make 100 pounds.

That’s crazy, doesn’t add up, do they even realize what they’re bidding on?

How do they have that crystal Xbox powered up and still in a plastic wrapper?

Anyway, new Xbox’s come on sale for $199 Canadian, I was going to buy one for the case and extra controller. I figured I could make almost all my money back selling the drives Mobo and PSU. Original cases sell for around $30 canadian and I wouldn’t even think of paying that much, and I couldn’t care less about clear glowing plastic garbage but I guess some people do.

LOL we have got this thing so far off topic, oh well.
What they did was add the cold cathod to the case, pluged every thing back in and turned the XBox on to get every thing to light up and than to the pic.
