This release of CD/DVD-ROM Generator 1.50 contains partial support for the Pioneer A03/A04 drives (same as OEM models DVR103/DVR104). The support is partial in the sense that these drives, although capable of CDR as well as DVDR burning, can only produce DVDR's with this software (Note that it is still possible to create usable test CDR's with these burners using cdvd2iso and other third party software--check the CD/DVD-Rom Generator Project on the website for details). Also, since these drives utilize the "For Data", aka "General" type DVDR, they cannot be used to create submission discs. The reason for this is that our factories require pre-master discs be on the DVDR for Authoring media. This last condition will eventually be removed, but the schedule has yet to be determined.
Despite these limitations, this release can still be very useful. These drives are less expensive and easier to obtain than the
"For Authoring" Pioneer DVR-S201. They are IDE drives, so a SCSI card is no longer a requirement. The general use media is also cheaper.
For internal use, testing, etc. the combination of this software and
one of these drives is a much more economical solution. Additionally, this combination allows 2X speed DVD burning, saving a considerable amount of time if the disc is near full capacity.
Support for Dual Layer (DVD9) projects is also greatly improved when compared to version 1.40 (which was not put into general release by SCEA). The implementation of layers is much more intuitive, and the images for each layer are easier to maintain.
Suggested candidates for this upgrade:
1. Anyone with a Pioneer A03/A04 drive.
2. Anyone using or experimenting with DVD9.
Plus the NFO that comes with it.
Man, I must be out of the loop again. What exactly does this generator do? Create valid PS2 discs?
suppose to be able to let u make a dvd of a few games on 1 disk dvd or let u make a 1 disk copy of cds that wereon ps1.where most ps1 games barely were much info on there anyway depending on the game . like ex final fantasy 8 was 4 cds u could be able to make 1 dvd and put on it ff8 and ff9 1 dvd instead of 8 cds.saves a lot of aggravation and to be able to pick from a menu which game u wish to play nice feature if all works should keep this thread going to work out any bugs or problems pos even supply tutorial in what needs to be done and how many ppl r sucessfull or what they r doing wrong.crazion has worked this prob out allready 4 x box.ex putting spyro 1 2 3 onto 1 dvd with a menu telling u b4 game starts what do u wanna play 1 2 or 3

It absolutely boggles my freaking mind that nobody has yet released a simple PS2 DVD ISO tool like CDGENPS2, a great little tool for CD-ROM ISO’s. Sony’s generator software sucks the big donkey drip!!!
is there a better way to do this
Basically i want it for backing up Champions of norrath. They say u need the generator 1.5 which i cant find anywhere.
So i was looking for a alternative.
awsome game by the way. Its just like Diablo 2 . maybe they got the idea from them.

Getting the generator is the easy part!!!
I have a lg 4040b burner
The sony generator 1.5 wont work with my burner. Does that mean im screwed and cant backup norrarth?
Thats why im looking for a alternative.
you don't need to burn it directly with cd/dvdgen, you should export the image and burn it with other programs. this thread will help you :
