View Full Version : True Crimes wont copy or play
I have a PS2 V7 (pal) with a messiah 2 pro and I brought True Crimes-Streets of LA (original) and it wont play in my console even when I turn the chip off? It seems to boot ok, but after some advertisment logo's it goes to RED CLOUDS. I also tried in a V9 (pal) with a magic 50K and its the same! All other games originals and backups play no worries so its not a dirty laser or anything. The V9 is brand new also. Any ideas?? And its NOT scratched. This is the first game that has done this.

The actual disc could be corrupted. I had a brand new copy of NCAA Football '03 not play in my PS2 when I bought it. I had to take it back to Wal-Mart and get another copy because the disc was screwed.
Does the game play in an un-modded PS2?
Yeah it plays on my no modchip console no worries? Ive been searching now for some help for days and no one seems to know? Its really quite unexplainable, except if it has some Modchip reconiser?

Dang man... That's a tough one. As far as I know, True Crime doesn't have any "special" program to make it not work on mods.
I could be wrong though. Someone's bound to give you some help though, because I'm pretty much stumped. Have you tried making a back up of the game and playing the back up on your PS2? If you can make a back up with no errors and it plays okay, then you can just play your back up and your problem is solved.

Hope this helps!! :)
JACKPOT!! It Works 100% You have to eject not on the PS2 logo screen, but when the ACTIVISION logo starts doing 360's. Thanks for all your help hunterevan & r00tcracker. I think this prob is probably limited only to the V7(PAL) with a pal game, seeing that it works ok for NSTC. Thanks once again, gotta go bash some buttons!!
