Recently I got a DVD burner, so I've tested it by burning some PS2 DVD games and playing on my PS2 (I have no solder mod [The swap mod..i hate it])
It played perfectly fine until couple days ago, my PS2 stopped reading my games. So far only games on MITSUI DVD-R and Originals work.
Does anyone know what the problem is??

From whats being stated by many of the modchip installers here, is that v5 ps2's are now just starting to loose their laser's.

What brands of dvdr have you tried so far, other than MITSUI?

Hmm, Ritek is usually the best there is for ps2. I use it for everything. Try keeping your ps2 in the vertical position (if its not already). This allows your laser to freefloat, rather than gravity keeping it pulled down (when its on the horizontal position).

Thanks for the help TylerDurden
I'm gonna try Ritek again see how it goes since MITSUI DVD-R's are very expencieve here

All good things must come to a end :( . V5's are getting old. You can always replace the laser and while you're at it install a no-swap chip.
