v10 trouble

i modded a v10 with a magic v 5k6 chip it will only play ps2 backups and originals. it won't play ps1 originals or backups or movies. it sees them as a ps2 disk. i have checked the wiring, and for bridges/splashes at least 3 times. i even went to a couple of different sites that sell them to check out the install diagrams and they are pretty much the same. if you take the chip out it plays all originals and movies just fine. any thoughts?

You have to boot it differently to play ps1 originals or backups and dvd movies.

heh try this trun on the ps2 put the moive or original game in and turn off the ps2 then push and hold eject to trun it on from stand by then the tray opens close it and hold eject for like 5-6 secs then it should work ;) its turns off the chip btw
