battlefield patch help

I have a battlefield1942 patch for v 1.5 and desert combat 0.5 (both patches are australian) but when i install them (the bf patch then dc) the bf screen comes up, the screen goes black and then back to windows? can some one help?

download the BF patch 1.6 and DC.07 and your problem is solved.

If you dont want to download the patches then search the forums for 'Battlefield black screen'.
