Magic 3.1 and Playstation 2 Hard-drive.

I was wondering, if anyone knows, ... if I buy the hard-drive (that comes with ffXI) will it work on my playstation 2? I have mine modded with a magic 3.1, I can turn the chip off, so everything will work, correct?
