I want to know how i can backup my ps2 games to a CD-R. I don't know what chip i have (as i didn't intsall it myself) and i use dvd region x to boot up the CD-R backups i have at the minute. I have tried DVDR backups but my ps2 doesn't read them when i try to boot them.
My CD-R backups have 2gb on them and it is a 700mb cd, as far as i know this is called overburning, what software can i use to do this?
I have been to alot of forums like this and have got nowhere please try and help me!

Well you have really given us nothing in information on what kind of setup you have.
It sounds like you have some sort of Neo chip setup. But without more information we cant help.
Try looking in the Ultimate Info Sticky Im sure youll find a lot of useful info there.

the ultimate sticky sure did have a lot of info a nd help, tutorials etc.
I originaly got my games backuped by using a friends computer. hes gone to university or sumthing and i 'am stuck could you reccommend how to put my ps2 games on cdr by overburning or removing unneeded features of the game eg. additional movies which are not really needed to play the game.
One last thing if you could say whether these drives support the reading of subchannel data and audio tracks:
Lite-on combo LTC-48161H
and
Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-106D

Well if those are your drives and if you have both of them you should be fine with backing up your games.
First of all make sure you know whether you have a ps2 cd or dvd. Ps2 uses both formats. Cd is blue bottom and DVD is silver bottom.
Lite-On is a very good CD drive and probably one of the better ones out there for the price. The AO6 is basically the same as said above for DVD formats.
If you have both of these drives like I asked earlier, I recommend that you do not try to make a dvd game smaller to fit onto a cd. Doing so is not only a very hard and tedious job but its not good for the ps2 laser, especially if done wrong.

They sound more like dvd-r backups, You cannot overburn 2 gigs on a 700mb cdr.

I have a couple of backups (700mb) with 2 gig on them i don't know how he did them.
One more thing do you know how good swap magic 3.0 pal isand would i be able to use it with a chip in my ps2 and finally can you remove a solder chip from ps2?

Swap magic is crap. I would never recommend them.
Yes you can remove your chip from your ps2 but dont do it just to use Swap magics.
Tyler!
to back up your ps2 dvd games you need to rip them basically remove all you dont need then change dvd checks so ps2 thinks the game should be on cd
if your cdr`s say 2gb i suspect they have illegal t.o.c to fool copy software
get tools and stuff here www.ps2rippininfo.btinternet.co.uk/

@queeg
lister82 has a Pioneer 1O6 that means there is no need to go through the strainuous project of backing up a dvd game to cdr any more. Im very sorry to say that dvd to cdr ripping is quite outdated.

Yes, but I only think he said that because he really doesnt know what hes getting into.
Tyler!
This guy e-mailed me through my site. I explained the same thing, but as you said Tyler, I don't think he knows what he is getting into.
P.S.: You are officially talking to a GENIUS. I took an I.Q test and got 165! It says that anyone above 161 is a GENIUS! For comparisson, Madonna got 140 and Bill Gates got 160.
