dvd-r vs. dvd+r

I just want to know the differences between both these dvd media cds, and how it affects the performance of ps2. Basically, whats better to use for backup ps2 games and backup dvd movies [all originaly owned]...I use a DMS3 V2. Also i would greatly appreciate which brand and format[r- or r+] is best for ps2 backups and which brand and format [r- and r+] is best for movies. Thank you.

Definately -R all the way...

-r works better in most cases
