The Fellowship Of The Ring - ERROR

Hi! I just backed up both disk1 and disk2 of this movie (disk2 is extramaterial) with DVD Shrink 3.1. Disk2 works fine, but Disk1 don't... Iv'e used Datawrite V2 (red) disks with AN32 dye... The problem that appears (only tested in PowerDVD so far) is that i get the first screen where i can choose my language in diffrent flags... But when i choose my swedish flag, or any other, the dvd stops like if it was finished... if i press the right mouse-button and choose Go to => Title 1 => Chapter 1, the movie starts and works perfect... what can be wrong? I still have all the files on my computer, and if i open them with PowerDVD, everything works... I choose my flag, i get warning after warning about not copying :) and the movie start when it should...

is this due to bad media? or about something else like DVD Shrink ripping the P-UOs (Prohibited User Operations)? this is the 4th DVD i backup, so i'm not a pro yet ;)

erm, you havent ripped out the swedish language in dvdshrink?

i not you may also try: set dvdshrink to output an imagefile. when done, mount the dvd image into a virtual drive (daemon tools, alcohol etc) and try that. if it works its definately your media.
get some quality media from ricoh, ritek, verbatim etc.

btw. do you have a standalone dvd player to test?

yea... the problem is that DVD Shrink only outputs .nrg files, and i don't get Deamontools to read nrg... it should read nrg, shouldn't it? well, when i bought thoose i didn't knew what dye it was, because Datawrite has A LOOT of diffrent dyes, and they all look the same...

i do have a standalone to test, but only at my fathers place, and i got my computer with my DVD writer here with my mother... i'll test it tonight, but it should work with PowerDVD to i think... :)

try renaming .nrg to .iso, should work!

the creator of daemon tools also works for alcohol software. and alcohol virtual drives reads nero imagefiles with no probs.

ok... i made a .iso file with Nero 6 from the files that i ripped from the CD before with DVD Shrink... i mounted the .iso file with Deamon-tools... and the movie works! just as it should... i get to the menu, and the movie starts...

so i guess the problem is only due to bad media? i don't have time right know, but i'll burn another copy tomorrow...
