Hello I have Civilization III - Play the world and when I use a back up copy of the game I get a Sound Version Error when I double click on the game which reads:

"The sound header files used in the game do not match the ones used in sound.dll. Check all Sound.h and Sound Device.h versions!"

Then when I get into the game I get the menu up which reads soemthing along the lines of:

First button which I presume is start a new game reads:

"#DRIVE_READ_ERROR"

it continues all through the menu. and the exit button reads:

"Advance"

Just two examples of what the buttons say... this happens when I install the crack on the game (drn-c3cq.rar) from the gamecopyworld.com site. If I were to click on any of the buttons mentioned above the game will play just with the menus n stuff scrambled.

Any Suggestions?

Also I have a problem when running them from the original CD all it seems to do is crash using the original EXE any suggestion on that?

is the crack for the same version you have (including the same language if applicable) ?

if the original also crashes, then i'd suggest you have driver issues or directx issues

also, please do not make duplicate threads

Right in that case yes the crack is the right version but just in case I will download and try another one...

Does anyone know where I can get a Fixed EXE crack for the above game and Civilization III - Play the World?

As for Direct X I have 9.0b which should be good enough to run it???

Any other suggestions?
