Call of Duty Single Player fix?

Is there a Call of Duty single player fix. After installing 1.2 my brother can no longer play single player.

I think the 1.2 patch only makes changes to the multiplayer side.
Still using the original Deviance NoCD here for single player no probs.
Has he made any other changes besides applying the 1.2 patch?

1.2 updates only multiplayer components (like 1.3 will do)
