Have a mate with a version 7 ps2 and Messiah 2 fitted. Have had a brief look and it seems like a sound installation but his ps2 won't boot any CD's, ps1 or ps2, original or back-up.

Anyone come across this b4?

It a possibility. Have offered to remove and reinstall from scratch. That will tell whats up. Thanx for reply.

Believe it or not I did have one V7 that had a bad laser and wouldn’t read CD-R's, but it would read original CD's. Before you rewire it maybe just try and clean the lens and see if that does anything.
