xbox hdd to pc, original/new one

yea i bet none of you really understand all of what my subject said so u decided to click this..
but anyway
yea i have my 120 gig hdd that im upgradin to a 250.. and my spare xbox hdds..
i was wondering if this tutorial is necessary:

i mean the steps are weird and all
...
can i just unlock it via evox then reformat it usin the way they say?
or somethin else is needed..?

I'm willing to bet if you unlock it than stick it in your PC and than run FDisk from DOS you can put a new partition on it than format via DOS or boot into Windows and do it.
