Well it doesn’t really matter. They are both good chips. There are how ever a few things that will set them apart. The Messiah will work on any current version of the PS2 but will run you $40-50 to buy. The magic V has 3 versions, the magic V for V4-V8, the magic V 50K for V9, and the Magic V 5K6 for V10's, all version run about $20.

The magic V being limited to V4 and higher versions I don’t see as being a draw back because the V4 and earlier PS2's as we all know have crappy lasers anyway. The only draw back that you might say the Magic V has is the 3 different version of the same chip if you’re thinking of stocking them.

Now the draw backs with the messiah are of course it is more expensive but then again it will work with any version PS2. I'm not so sure this is a draw back as of yet but of course it could be down the road with the legal crap the messiah team is going through, only time will tell I guess.

So in the end it’s really up to you, they are both great chips, you just have to measure your particular situation to decide.
