Cd-r to DVD-R

hey guys. i have been trying to backup my action replay max to a dvd-r. i have it backed up on a cd-r but it apears to be putting a lot of straine on the laser with VERY VERY VERY loud noises. whenever i try to back it up with either RNM or burnatonce i get an error saying wronge blank media inserted! how can i back up a cd-r game/ar max to a dvd-r?

I think you have to rebuild it with CD/DVD Generator or something. I dont think it is as easy as just making an image and burning.
