View Full Version : burner errors when doing ps2 games
My pc is makeing me mad i got a 1.3 gig pc as a 2nd and i put my 500 mb ram chip in it and a06 burner ever time i burn a dvd game with rnm or nero it burns 1/2 way and comes up with a BS error i formatted the pc charge the slave to master i try ever thing it thing dose not want to burn i know it has enough memory to do it i got a 1.8 comeing soon but i need this for the tme begin i alrdy wasted 9 dvd-rs or this stupid thing :mad:

o no its not that one pc i make the igme just find then when i burn it it will burn they come up with a error wasteing my dvd-r both nero and rnm will do a error i try ever thing change ram changeing mstr and slave on the dvd drives reformatting pc 2 times and it still dose it :( i try it on my 1.2 gig pc which it worked fine with other burners and on this one i will burn when i first turn pc on and it dose fne but if i play around on the net and stuff then burn aftr i get done it will burn then just stop in middle of burning with no errors or nothing like its ran out of mem and stuff i got 256 mb ram in it and never had this problem be but i never used a a06 on it that maybe the problem or maybe the burners going bad :( im thinking of buying a lite on 4 x today from walmart and if it dont work i can always take it back :)
I'd like to help but reading all that crap with poor grammar and no punctuation gave me a headache.:(

i got my 1.8 today and if it dosent work in it it would have to the the a06 if so i will sawp it out at bestbuy :D cause 3 pcs not to work with the burner has to be something worng i will buy the liteon for my 1.2 gig pc and hope it works but if not i will refund it and i never did like spelling or english in school lol better yet i never liked school heh.

I've tried to read this 5 or 6 times but am still not sure i understand everything lol. EVO, you are not trying to burn 2x media at 4x are you?? It will give this same error if you do.
nope all my dvd-rs r 4x and worked just a few days ago and now its wanting to give me errors i will try it in my 1.8 gig pc and see what happens cause it worked fine in my 1.3 b4 i sold it i dont know if that firmware update could had screwed it up :( and i went to get a lite on 4x 5 walmarts sold out it sucks guess i will check for one online.

well it seems to be working fine on my new 1.8 (knock on wood) but thnx for the help i never relly figerd out what the problem was i think i will try to get a lite on off the net and hope it works in my 1.3 unlike the a06

What you need to do was your dvd copyer is not set as master slave. You need to open your pc and look at the dvd copyer slave and see what is set at.

Lol. As what? You mean Primary/Secondary master.
Master and slave are complete opposites. You mean the jumper on the back of the drive needs to be set as a master... don't you?
yeah i think i had them both as mstre or something i could had swore i set them right but i guess not and when i said knock on wood im my earily post now my 1.8 is begin a pain in the ass aftr about 5 formats b4 figering out i had the boot set to load ide-1 which was a spare drive no xp and ide-0 had xp on it and it keep saying NTLDR or something like that was missing lol i figerd out that and got ever thing on there same as my 1.3 and it runs fast and all and now aftr i leave it on for awhile and do things on the net or read dvds it will just freeze :mad: and i have to hit reset then it will work for awhile again then freeze i cant figer it out i did a reformatt and still dose the BS i charned vidoe cards cause i thought that what is was but no luck so i cant burn games on it cause it could freeze at any time in middle of bruning and i wasted enough dvd-rs as is like 10$ worth i lucked out though and got a lite-on duel formatt 4x from walmart today for 100$ 1 walmart out of 8 had 1 and it was behind the cash desk lol the lady said she didnt know why it was there but i got it and going to see how it works on my 1.3 system hope it dose better then the a06 on that system and i cant belive they sold them lite ons that quick and my 1.3 system passes the requerments for the burner

i think i might had figerd it out im thinking my spare drive has something to do with it i unhooked and i will leave it on for awhile and see what happens if no freeze that means the errors on that drive and i will have to formatt it :( over 125 gigs in games :( took me awhile to get them on there but if it makes my pc work i wont mind formatting i will just put the games back on there as i go :)
Im confused as hell i try every thing to fix 1.8 reinstalled windows used only one hard drive switched video cards the pc will run for awhile and just freeze out of the blue im thinking i must had got a bad board or chip cause out of 5 barebone systems i build i never seen any do this :( i h8 haveing to return it cause they put u on hold forever and they want u to try this and that aftr they do talk instead of exchangeing it but when it dose work its very fast i can read and burn games while i play on the net b4 when reading it would slow down so bad that the mouse would jump when trying to do things, Any u guys ever seen a case like this b4 ?
well i finaly figerd out why my 1.8 has been freezeing aftr 8 formatts and mem test and ever thing come to find out it was the pos sound driver that caused it to crash. I noticed this last night when i formatted the pc and i didnt install no drives that came with the unit and left it on 20 hours stright never once messed up. So i install the sound drive then boom system resets on its own then error report came up serious error and system shut down to prevent damage then aftr it finaly installed then played a mpg video 1/2 way through system crashed again same as b4. :( do u guys know if i can use a dif sound drive off the net instead of this one cause it would suck haveing no sound.
Check for updated drivers on the manufacturer's website.
i never thought about that syntax.com i will try there thats what the mobo says when i turn it on :)

Well Evo, you have been going through alot of Tylenol and as for the rest of you, lol, its all self inflicted. :p
OK your sound should not be interferring with the rest of the operation.
1st I have to ask, When you install the drivers for the sound, does it ask you if you want to keep the driver you already have cause it is newer than the one you are installing? If Yes, you must chose to use the older one as it is the right one for your sound to work.
Is your sound onboard? If yes, Go into the bios settings and disable it, then try to get the dvd burner to work first.
Do you suspect any virus activity, that might be causing this?

I must let you know up front though, I am training for a FreeStyle Pizza Tossing event that I compete in on monday 2-9-04. Sounds funny maybe but if I win, I make the US Pizza Team, I will represent the US and go to Italy for world competition. Let me know if you need my help though. Be glad to get ya sorted there.

o it has no drivers at all unless i install then from that disk i went to add hard ware and it has them listed as yellow ? on them and says drives not installed so when i install them from the disk it crashes aftr it install like i can play mpegs useing media player and it locks the pc up right in middel of playing i also tryed the drive from syntaxusa.com it dose the same problem khafan gave me some other links with drivers im going to try them and see what happens and if it still dose it i will just buy a sound card from pricewatch they have a good plug and play for only 5$ shiped and it has drivers of its own and the burner that was on a dif pc but i got a lite on 4x same that warlocks got in it now and it works great :) i dont know what i did worng there but its fixed now.
