Xbox Dvd Rom

hi,

i got an xbox preowned a few weeks ago and i think the dvd rom is dying beecause it plays a game for 20 min then it might hang you can here it spin and i think the laser clicks could the dvd rom be on its way out? if it is could i put a pc dvd rom in or do i need to buy a new one.

Well, it could just be the media it is trying to read. The clicks are the laser struggeling to read the disk. It could be a dying laser, but i think you would more likely get a dirty disk error first.

There was a tutorial on hooking a pc dvd-rom to an xbox on xbox-scene, however it will not read original xbox games. There is also a pc dvd-rom to do to a samsung drive, but that is for too much work if you ask me, besides it'll cost you like 100 bucks to do.

yea i get a dirty disk error or it will go to the xbox logo and then a black screeen then all i can here is a shh then a click

has anyone els had/have this problem?
if i put a game/dvd/dvd-r with a game or moveis in mah xbox
it sqweels at me.. verry high pitched.. but mah mates new xbox dosnt :/
its a xbox 1.0 with a tompson dvd i belive

its caus our xboxs are older and the laser gets worn its gay. i am about to get a new tompson but i prefer phillips dvd rom drive v soon

hi,

im after a new xbox rom and stumbled across either a thompson or a phillips and i dont know what one to get. with the thompson i get 3 months warranty and the phillips i dont have a clue. what shall i get.
