okay .. i'm a complete noob when it comes to console backups, but here's my question ..

i have a psx and ps2, both without modchips. i want to be able to back up and play my ff7 cds on one of the consoles (not fussed which ..), because the originals are not in a good way.

i have heard that it's possible to play backups without a modchip by using a 'game enhancer' .. all i have along those lines is an action replay cdx v3.5 (for the psx) .. does anyone know whether this will allow me to play backups in any way, shape or form?

also, what backup software would the pros recommend? (i have an lg dvd/cdrw combo drive)

thanks for indulging this noob ..

well matie i tell you what u need. get yourself a mod chip because there all pointless you have to swap disks and it gets annoying. where abouts are you and i can tell you if there is an installer near by.

sigh .. yea, i figured it would be simplest with a chip, just don't really feel like spending out on one :)

ah well, around what do they normally cost ..?

i'm in north devon .. doubt there are any installers near me really- there's hardly any civilisation at all!
