HI, Gents! I just ran a virus scan on my computer last week and now RecordNow Max give me a read error as soon as I start to read a DVD or CD. It says "PxEngine Error (then some numbers) cannot read disc." I've tried downloading PxEngine from Veritas and still no luck. Even uninstalling and installing isn't helping. DVDxCopy works fine though. I have a Pioneer 1A04 with 1.40v firmware. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Thats odd. Maybe youve got a nasty virus thats hidden itself within RNM. I wish I knew what to tell you man.

When you uninstalled did you completely uninstall? I mean did you actually delete the folders out of the Program Files folder?

No I didn't but I'm guessing I should. Its version 3 so I'm sure its time for an upgrade anyways. Any recommendations? I'm pretty partial to RNM. Thanks!

If you have V3 then update to v4.5. You shouldnt have probs after that.

Thanks, Tyler! I went to a link when I did a search, but I couldn't find the upgrade. Is it on the stomp site or veritas? Thanks again!

Your gonna have to search these forums. I know that the Veritas site itself has taken down the link but the link still works. Just do a search for the demo of RecordNow Max or something.

My 4.5 did the same thing just before chrimbo. I still think it was a Virus hiding itself as the computer refused to write discs and everytime you opened a program, it illegal errored out straight away, so eventually I had to reformat and start again :(

So now, I keep a backup Windows installation on a separate H.D. and just transfer the files across if I have anymore problems...

P.S.: Cactus, you tried to send me a P.M. a few weeks back, but my inbox was full. You can try again now, i've emptied it. Cheers bud, LUFCfan :D

I too was thinking of keeping a backup hdd just in case something bad happens.
