I emailed the following to charlie, my installer and to bighap (accidently) but i didnt get any response, (at least, not from charlie or my installer :P) so I thought I should post it here:

About a year ago I bought a Messiah 2 PRO chip. I got it installed by a professional in my us v7 ps2 and all the games boot fine. However, last week I imported SOCOM 2 (us original)and wanted to play it online. I knew I had to put my ps2 into "stealth- mode" because of the DNAS. Now here's my problem:

When I release the reset-button after 5 seconds I hear a strange continueous noise(i cant really describe it, but it isnt very loud) from the ps2 drive and the browser/configuration screen appears.

But, when I keep the reset-button pressed (during boot AND whilst playing), it IS in stealth mode and the game works fine! I know it is in stealth because with a PAL game the red screen appears as it would normally do on a us system. Also, when i release the reset-button whilst playing, the same strange sound is heard from the drive and the game freezes.

I would be very grateful if anyone had a solution for this problem, cause its a little awkward playing SOCOM with one hand whilst keeping the reset-button held with my other :$ !!

Your not supposed to continue holding reset while playing. Just hold it till your eject light turns on then release.

I know tyler, that is the problem! When I release it (when the light goes on), I hear a strange noise from my ps2 drive and the browser menu appears. Is my timing just off, or could it be something else? I need to play SOCOM 2 ! :P

Im wondering if there is something screwy with your ps2. Maybe a wire came loose or who knows what.

BTW, you probably wont be able to get a hold of Charlie or maybe even Dust for that matter. There is a thing going on in the UK about installers so I dont know where they stand on that now.

Everything seems ok tyler.... Though i found out that when the drive makes that strange noise, it also stops spinning. That explains why the games freez if im releasing the reset-button during play...
