View Full Version : Ripping "Clips"
Is there a way to "rip" clips from movies? Say I just wanted the scene from Raiders where he transfers the bag of sand for the idol.
I would want to "rip" it and put it into another format (AVI, MPG, etc.) with audio.
I was thinking of just buying a "cheap" ($50) DVD player and channeling it through my PC, but I believe I would lose audio.
thanks in advance for any help.

You might want to try something like Ulead DVD Movie Factory 2.
I haven't tried it for that purpose but the program has many functions.
Most DVD Rippers that I know of that will rip parts or chapters of movies are usually rippers that convert to avi/vcd/svcd etc. I am yet to see a simple ripping program that will rip a chapter from a DVD to DVD format.
It probably wouldn't hurt to try the trial version of the Ulead program anyway.
Good luck

You can use TMPGEnc for this. You can set a start and an end frame, then "rip" it.

Tried. I cant seem to find the Start/End feature. It appears I would also have to "guess" the audio file......
Of course im a little new to this so I could be missing something.
Thanks,
