Well, I was thinking of buying some more blank DVD-R's this week. CompUSA has a special sale on 2x TDK DVD-R's, and so does Best Buy. Basically, I could either get a 25 pack of 2x TDK DVD-R's for about $32, or a 100 pack of 2x TDK DVD-R's for $120.

Then I checked Meritline's website and saw this....
http://www.meritline.com/meritline/rithigqualgo.html
A 100 pack of 2x Ritek G03 Grade A DVD-R's for $80.

I have a Sony DRU 510A 4x burner. I don't mind burning a DVD at 2x. I'm just wondering.....will the Ritek DVD-R's work just fine in my Sony burner? And should I buy them from Meritline? I don't want to have any problems ordering blank DVD media from Meritline (as one person did http://www.fileforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=56631 ), and $80 for a quality pack of 100 blank DVD's with free shipping sounds like a good deal to me. (I would use CC to pay for them.)

What do you all think? Will those Ritek's work fine with my Sony burner and will I be okay to buy them from Meritline?

Hi Mark.

Well Ritek have to be one of the leading media producers in the industry and produce a lot of DVD/R and CD/R media for other companies, although these are 2x , G03 die and not G04 i think that $80 for 100 is still a damn good deal. Not sure what the exchange rate is but i recently spent £46 on 50 G04's.

I recon that you would have very few failures if any, especialy if you stick to the 2x as stated.

Good luck

Me again.

Check with gh0sth@cker first, sounds to me like he has had a few problems with the Ritek G03's. If in doubt about conflicting information then just stick with the brand that works for you.

Hmmm, so at least I know I'll be safe ordering from them using credit card.

Spooky- How can I talk to gh0sth@cker about the G03 Ritek DVD-R's? Do you remember what kinds of problems he was having with them? Write errors? Playback errors?

So far I've been using TDK DVD+/-R's and DVD+RW's and I have had no errors burning yet. If there is a problem with the 2x G03 Ritek DVD-R's then I could always just get some TDK's instead. A little pricier, but guaranteed to work.

Bought a 200 pack of the G03's from meritline with a credit card and they work great. I haven't had any problems. I thought it was rather fast shipping also. Can't go wrong with the Ritek dye!
