im tossing and turning over this bloody soldering iron the only one i can find is a 25 and 40 watt iron no 15w grrr

Can anyone help me??

maplins is a good place for antex irons and tips . i use a 15w antex iron with a tip of 0.12 mm but i had to get this from antex them self http://www.antex.co.uk/. i also use a Soldering Station
50W / 230V, Temperature controlled, Analogue antex as well hope this help

i do take my hat off to you mod installers u do a great job the points are bloody small on those ps2 mobos specially those lil pads

Try Maplins, they stock most of the Antex range at all of their branches including the 15, 18 and 25watt versions. they also do a good range of replacement tips.

Try to find a store close to you, (they have over 60), if not then try their mail order system. They also have a good range of soldering accessories available. I might be praising them a lot but i did work for them for over 11 years.

yea looks good theygot 15 w irons on promotion there, but my local branch only have 18 watt ones darn it!

My grandad has given me his old one to use for a while, when he worked in the navy...

erm if the wattage is too high it could fry my ps2 because of the heat

Can you guys have a look at this lot, and tell me what I need to soldier a DUO Chip. If i get any good at it, might do it for friends. 3 ppl want xbox chip mods, 2 ps2 mods.

So please help :)
