Hi guys. I figured that you where all such a huge help in getting my mod chip installed that I would call upon you all again. I was able to get my mod chip (magic 3.1 in a V7) installed and working just fine. Every now and then the game would freeze and the eject would act a bit funny but all I had to do was turn off the system and every thing would be fine the next time I tried. Now, I was out at work and my wife calls to tell me that the system isn't working at all anymore. When you turn on the system you can't get the eject button to work. I've dissassembled everything and checked all the connections but every thing seems fine. Any ideas?

Thanks.

The reset/eject ribbon cable could possably be damaged. Take it back apart and use a multimeter to test for continuity at each point from one end of the cable to the other. I had a crappy V4 given to my by a guy that was doing just what your stateing. But this genious when putting his PS2 back together some how jammed a case screw right down the middle of it. I repaired it with some 30awg wire. If I get time I'll take a picture of it and post it here so you will have an idea of how I fixed this one. Or you could just buy a new one . I beleave they are fairly cheap. If this is even the problem.

That was one of the things I was wondering. Can I just use some of the same wire that I used for the power connections on the Mod chip and basicaly make a new ribbon cable? I'll have to see if I can find a tester tomorow.

Well I had it so that I could at least turn it on and off with my reset button but no luck with the eject button. Now it doesn't even turn on. So I'm going to make a new cable using 30g wire and solder it to the points just behind the ribbon cable. I hope that works. Any other ideas as to what went wrong?
