Hello, I'm new in this, my question is
does playstation 1 play mp3???
Obviously it will some player and a mod chip.

I've never heard of anyone trying this before but you could do a search and see if this topic has ever been asked before.

Why would you want to play mp3's in a game console?

Why?, 'cause would be great. I've heard the ps2 can play mp3 and I wonder if Ps1 could do it too.

Ok, sorry to take so long to get back to you. I tried to play mp3's in my friends and it did not work. He has a 4 wire mod in it but would not support mp3 playback. You might be able to do a search and see if there is a mod chip that will support this though,or just invest in a mp3 player.

oh dude your in luck. you can theres a lil box you plug into ur ps1 erm maybe liksang sell them i know i saw them here in the uk :)
