Title: Shenmue II Disk 1 *English Speech Repack*
Platform: Dreamcast
Date: Dec.17.2003
Format: DiscJuggler v.4

Summary:
Since the Shenmue 2 USA Never goes to Dreamcast,
The EURO Version have English Subtitles,
But the Speech was in Japanese.
So i decide to repack it with English Speech
(The Speech files were taken from XBOX Shenmue2)

hey thats a good idea taking the voices from the xbox game well done!

actually i prefere japanese voices a lot, i think english actors are not very realistic sometimes (they exagerate tone).

i was thinking of making a shenmue1 with japanese voices and english/french texts, i already know what files to modify but i cant find any japanese rip of shenmue 1, someone has a clue?

please PM me if you can share the japanese rip or at least the files i need

Hi, You may know me from the ShenmueDojo.. I've been doing mods and stuff on Shenmue and Shenmue 2 for a long time. I originally tried this out back in 2002. I have dial-up so I haven't downloaded it.. But I have to ask you jeffma.. Is EVERY voice on the disc? I can't see how you possibly did that though. Because if you include the in-game talking, it WAY exeeds the 700mb limit. Even when some things are cut out. Yet you have the full disc 1. Does that include In-game voices from the FREE.AFS? I don't see how downsampling can even help.. And I don't know how to even downsample Shenmue II's ADX files. They are not like most ADX files.

it is No way to put EVERY Voice on 700MB cdr
i copy all the afs EXCEPT Free01.afs

i think it will fit on 99MIN CDR if you want EVERY Voice
but my burner wont let me overburn a Multi-Session CD
i cant test

Do you know what's up with Shenmue's ADX files? They aren't like regular ADX files. Is there any way to convert these that you know of?

the voice is Not Adx format
it is Ahx

Oh yeah I knew that. It says AHX quite alot in the voice files when opened in a hex editor and stuff. I've gotten a few programs that SAY they play AHX files.. But they don't. Is there any way to your knowledge to play them on a PC?

Oh also.. Do you know anything about STR files? Or a way to convert them? They are the file types used in Shenmue 1. As well as the types used in the BGM.afs's in Shenmue 2.

That's pretty cool, does anyone know if a translated version of What's Shenmue is in the works?

Just a translation of the subtitles. Voice over doesn't matter. Then again, who would go through the trouble of recording new voices for a game. The Japanese version sounds better anyway.

Ummm why would you be playing a non english version?

If you have the japanese version the question here is why buy the japanese version?

if you have the japanese version and want the english language version then you should have bought that... as dabhand said... anything else is bordering on piracy, which is not tolerated here
