Irregardless of what the virtual drives or virtual clone programs on your system are for, you will not be able to play Raven Shield with patch 1.5 unless you remove them completely off your system.

Bullshėt, I can still use my Alcohol virtual drive with my RaSh mini image.

So much for that...

btw. and what relation to StarForce do you see? I can not see any.

I think there will be a Crack, skipping the check for the virtual drives...

Or there will be versions of these virtual drive programs that report as physical drives.
Possibly even by faking filenames of their drivers so that they match those of physical drives.

StarForce does something close to that, which will cause a huge panic if it ever becomes widely used, and eventually company will end up reverting to something more mild.

bull****, starforce uses its own ide driver to bypass and virtual drives, its not blacklisting, it just completely alienates the virtual drives, if you're gonna bring up something and talk about it, at least make sure you know about the subject in the first place

I wonder if that's what the next Securom is all about, an own ide driver to deal with the emulation....wouldn't be the first time Sony ripped off someone else's stuff

blah blah bleh bleh, who cares man - so this new game acts at the application level (simple blacklisting), whereas Starforce works on a lower, driver-level, but that's not the point!

What he wuz trying to point out was that their goal is the same - to render virtual drives useless, regardless of the means used, from the simplest to the most devious ones.

Semper idem, sed aliter

They use the same thing that BlindWrite and Alcohol 120% use - their own device driver...

Which is definately crappy. However, I beleive that as long as emulation software is considered LEGAL in the area - StarForce can be SUED. Also, the Raven Shield 1.50 patch did some blacklisting, and WOAH - so much flames they had to release 1.51 one since they broke the EULA license agreement!

Hehe, StarForce won't be making profit in USA - good for me.
