Ok, i had my dms3 v2.0 installed in my v7 but it was sloppy so i decided to take all the wires up and do it over, well when i was takin off the wires on the backside of the board wire r decided not to come off. It ripped the copper solder pad thing off with it, along with the copper strip that goes back to the hole. Heres a pic but its blurry and out of focus if you dont know what im talking about. It ripped off from the arrow the other arrow.

What should i do to fix this, i was thinking i could just solder a 30awg kynar wire from the really small hole to the copper solder pad and it would be fine. What do you think, and how should i fix this?
What will not having this on do to my ps2???
This sucks and i was planning on having the install done tonight but so much for that, thanks for any and all help guys.

The whole track came off?!
Thats really odd, but I would try what you said. If it were me I would be very careful in what you are doing. You should be able to jump the track from one end to the other.
I hope you get things going. If you feel uncomfterble doing this yourself get an expert to do it for you.

Yea the whole freakin track, sucks ass. I will NEVER try and pull the glue up from the wires, this is what it caused. I was just tryin to clean the wires up a bit. I already tried soldering a wire into the little hole with no success, but since the copper pad is gone theres nothing there to solder to. WHat leg # is the alternate point on the chip on the other side for point R?

You may want to take a better look at were the actual pad used to be. It should have another track going to the black thing above it. If you can jump your wire to that you may get things going.
BTW, is that the R point or is it a different point. Im not positive because I dont currently have messiah 2 v7 diagram in front of me.

Yes, i can see the little track that goes under the black thing, im glad it didnt rip off in that direction. And yea its the R point. I got one end of the wire soldered into the via, took a while it wouldnt stick for nothin. Im still trying to get the other end where the other track is.
If i do it this way can i use alternate points for the back side points, and i need a diagram for the alternate points for a v7. Cant find one anywhere, thanks for the help man.

I really wouldnt know about alternate points for your particular chip. But I know if you were to get a Duo chip you wont need that particular point to solder to. Most of the other points will be the same too, so if you still have wires connected to the motherboard all you have to do is solder the ones that match to the chip.

Even if i didnt need that point to solder to i still havent gotten a wire soldered between point R and the via, its damn near impossible, for me at least.
I was wondering if there was an alternate point on the flipside that corresponds to the trace going from point R's copper pad up under the black chip?
ANd which leg i need to solder to on the chip on the flipside for the via.

:( Thanks for the help youve already given me, i have yet to find out the answer about the alternate points but ive posted on several boards so hopefully someone will know.
On a related note, one of the pads next the the one i ripped off has some solder on it i cant get off, i tried using desoldering braid but maybe im not using it right. I held the braid on the solder and heated the braid but it wouldnt come up. Is this correct?
