View Full Version : X-b.i.t
Hi,
I'm about to purchase an XBOX with the X-B.I.T modchip pre-installed. I know nothing about XBOXes since this will be my first one.
Is that modchip great for all purpose?
If not, which ship should I get?
Also, my DVD burner can only burn DVD+R/DVD+RW.
Will the XBOX read them?
Thanks!

well, if it's the xbot that supports v1-v5 (which i only there is 1 xbit chip), I can't believe im saying this guys, but it is probably the best chip out for xbox at the moment. Supports up to 6 different bios.
And xbox will read dvd-+r/rw, cd-rw, and if you have a Samsung DVD drive, it will read cd-r as well
The Samsungs will not read DVD+ disks.

wait, they don't? I guess they aren't as good as I thought. I'd rather have a dvd-rom that reads dvd+ than one that reads cd-r. I can't believe they sell for so much more.
Mine won't. And from what I read at X-S none of any ones else’s will real DVD+ disks either. You have to have one of those "after market" Samsungs. The PC ones people reflash put in their XBoxes to be able to read DVD+.
Mine didn't cost me a dime.

I actually have a thompson drive, but always idolised the samsung because I thought it didn't have problems reading any type of dvd media or cd's. Most of the dvd's i use are dvd+, so i guess if i had a samsung, well, i'd have 50 useless dvd's lol.
I take it back, my Samsung will read DVD+RW disks, but not DVD+R disks...
Maybe it just doesn’t like the data burn with DVD+R. Will have to play around with ISOs and Nero and see.
