Hi all,
I'm currently attempting to back up my original of Prince of Persia on the PS2.
I can make an image of the disc no problem. But it doesn't seem to burn to the disc properly.
Is there some type of protection on this?? If so how can I get around it.
I've tried using DVD Decryptor, Alcohol 120%, Nero, PrimoDVD and a few others.
Each as the same result.
I'm using Verbatim DVD's and burning them as slow as I can. I know these discs work as I use them for backing up all my other games.
Please help as I don't want my son getting his hands on my original discs.

What happens exactly when you try to burn the disc?

I just create an image of the disc. It copies fine with all the programs I mentioned.
It creates an image OK and even burns OK. The problem is that when I place it in the PS2 nothing happens. It doesn't play the disc.
I either get "Insert disc" error, or the red Playstation error.

Apart from that it seems to go through the backup procedure exactly the same as with all the other backups I do.

Thanks

Paul

Yes.
I have the messiah chip.
I've backed up many games before. Just this one doesn't want to play ball.
I've heard there is some type of mod protection on it. Although I don't know how!?
I think someone may have been talking out their arse as normal.

I think others have managed to get the game working, so I don't think it is anti-mod which is causing all the fuss. Anybody else got any suggestions?

Try using RecordNow MAX. If the software doesn't detect the drive, download the PX-Engine Update for it. All software, PX-Engines and tutorials are available here. (http://www.mjpaul.freeserve.co.uk)

I've already used RecordNowMax and PrimoDVD. But I will give it another go.

Results soon.
