I will be getting a V9 silver PS2 with a mod chip. The place I'm getting it from only do Magic V5 50k and smart chip after having problems with others. Which of these 2 is best? I'm only interested in reliably booting PS2 and PSone imports and backups. I'm not bothered about fast boot, etc. Do any of these chips have any problems with copy protections? I'm leaning towards the Magic V 50k has they have units ready to ship, where as the smart chips are on order. Any reasons I shouldn't go for a magic V 50k?

Thanks in advance

I have installed quit a few Magic V 50k's now and haven't had a hiccup with a single one. I was leery of the Magic V based on magic's previous history but they have in my eyes stepped up a notch and can give the rest of the mod manufacturers a good run for there money at only $30-$35 for a great mod.

My v9 w/ magic V works flawless. I 've never had a problem and have played many backup games.
