Hi I want to start backing up my ps2 games and I need to get a cd burner.

On this site you guys say pioneer a03/a04/a05 but I can't seem to find these except I can get pioneer a06. Is this good too whats the difference?

Also I'm thinking of using a plextor because I've never had problems with my cd burner so I doubt I'd have problems with the plextor dvd burner.

Is plextor good for burning ps2 games? It writes at 8X and I was wondering if I could burn ps2 games at 8X without having reading problems from the ps2?

Thanks and I appreciate your patience.

Any DVD burner you get should be fine. I'd recommend a -R burner or -+R burner like the AO6 you mentioned.

I havent even seen any 8x media. I'm sure companies are holding back on that. And I dont think y ou can find the 4x's because they arent making them anymore. DVD Burn technology seems to be coming fast fast fast.

About as fast as cdr technology has been advancing in the last year.

Plextor burners are top drawer. I use a 48x Plextor CD-R Burner - and not one coaster!

I use a Pioneer DVD-R burner and likewise, never gave me a problem.

So in conclusion, both drives are great, so it really is your choice!

Ur best gettin a cd burner as well. I have a pioneer 106 which is also a good cd burner as well as a dvd burner but in order to prolong its life I only use it for burnin dvd's. I picked up a liteon 52X32X52 for £25 (cheap compared to price of dvd burner) an use that to burn cd's.
