My ps2 is scph 30001 r, date code 1d it was bought in Canada and the serial is U3117200... can some one help with the version? :confused:

Thanks Tyler.... I looked some more... can it be a v5/6 without the 3rd screw?
If you only have 2 screws in the expansion bay it is a v4.

judging by the R and the datecode Biggie its a v5/6. If I remember correctly V4's datecode only went up to 1b.
Or you can just match the motherboard to one you see on a diagram.

There are 3 Motherboards for the SCPH 30001R Version 4 and 5 and 6
just depends on those silly little screws. lol

Would Magic 3.1 be the best chip for a v4?

Actually Id recommend a Duo Chip or Apple Chip for a v4. Apple's only cost $20 w/free shipping and Duo's cost $21 w/free shipping.
Only real differene between the 2 is that the Duo has 17 wires to connect and the Apple has 22 (I think).
This is based on NTSC systems only.
