This is driving me nuts, I just tried to backup a copy of Rising Sun and came up with a strange problem. I am using Stomp RecordNow Max and used the backup procedure listed at the beginning of these forums.. everything seemed to run smooth until i checked in the folder where the .gi image is stored and found 3 other .gi files that accompanied the one I originally told RecordNow to make. I attached the actual image of what I see in my windows explorer, take a look at that and tell me whats up. (I captured the relevant portion of the screen w/ prnt scrn) This could be due to a scratched disc but there aren't noticable scratches. Here are my settings: (all MINIMUM speeds were used in copying and recording)

SCPH-39001 console
Pioneer DVR-AO6U
Stomp RecordNow Max
Verbatim DVD-R media
*Magic Swap 2.0 w/ slide card (dont tell me it doesn't work, I have used it to play a few different games so far)

Also another question is, can i use Phillips DVD+R media to play backups on my version of PS2(i think is 3 since its a scph-39001), also can you use DVD +/- RW's to burn games, and in my system config in the ps2, should i choose fast or standard for disc speed, and smooth or standard for texture mapping? any help would be appreciated in resolving my questions. If possible please email me at "[email protected]" with any correspondance.

We all know what your talking about. Its normal. Thats just how RNM breaks the image up so older versions of Windows' file systems can handle it.

Just select either the file without a number by it or the first one in order, it will link RNM to the others when the time comes.

Also you have a version 7 (scph-39001) not version 3 so phillips dvd+r might work, having said that I'd stick with the dvd-r media you are using as they work okay.

As for texture mapping and disc speed, I think they only apply to playing ps1 games on yr ps2 and most of the time changing the disc speed causes unpredictable results when loading up ps2 games, although the texture mapping can make sum games look a little less chunky.

Hey, the problem with mine is kind of funny now.. I accidently used the cd backup instead of the dvd backup cd for swap majic. stupid mistake on my part but everything works fine now and dvd+r media is working like a charm on my new backups.

I can't wait for this game in the UK, I mean PC's are made for games like this but PS2's have got some pretty good online games now and they are getting better.

Also thankfully EA can't use that S**T system they used for FIFA 2004 online which is complete B*****S, because it won't without being server based (not peer to peer).

I won't tell you it doesn't work, but i'll tell you it'll f*** up your PS2 and some games which use the double TOC check won't work!

Sorry Big Mod

Just got carried away. It brought back the memories of having to email EA support every 10 seconds telling them to sort it.

They were blaming my router setup.

People just can't accept responsability these days!
