blank dvd-r compatibility ???

Just bought a Hi-val Dvd Burner and some dvd-r media Compusa brand. Copied some movies with clonedvd as well as made a home video disc with Pinnacle STudio 8 discs play fine on computer with windvd and on a magnavox dvd player but dont play at all not readable on a Sony Dvd player 2 year old model or an apex 1200 Dvd player any help would be appreciated

Your Apex should play it. Check here (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers) to see if your Sony supports dvd-r.

Just confirmed a 2 year old Toshiba model played the the dvdr i burned fine but not an old 1999 toshiba 2109 model is it possible it's the media. ???

Some people can play dvd-r on that Toshiba model and some can't. It can also depend on the program you used to make the dvd. For some reason some progs can make a dvd that the player won't like. Try another prog or media to pinpoint the prob.
