Does the ps2 play mp3s? With or without a chip, the chip im going to install is the dms3 v2.0. I just never knew if it did or not, and if the chip let you or not.

If so, would it read the mp3s just off a cd or could it read them off of a dvd r also?
TIA

There is a program called the Ps2 Reality media player that will allow you to play mp3's and also divx movies on your ps2 with any no swap chip installed. The good thing about the mod you say your getting is that the DMS3 can boot this program off your ps2 mem card.

I suppose you could probably make a dvd data disc full of mp3s but that seems like a waste of good dvdr media. You can fit hundreds of mp3's on one cd-r anyway. Do a search on the forums for the program I mentioned above and you should find where to obtain this program and everything else you will need to know to get it running. Hope this Helps.
