I was wondering if its possible to play backups on sonys online service? I plan on getting Return of the King, and SOCOM II, but i dont own a network adaptor, and wont be buying one if backups dont work online as my ps2 has a tendancy to mistreat my originals when running them :(

So if anyone knows if backups can play online, or if there are patches to let them play online or any way I can do this, as there have been a few online games i have felt like testing.

Appreciate any information.

Also does anyone know when the GBA emulator for ps2 is going to be done, or if its finished and out there somewhere???

All new online games use DNAS protection now so you are SOL.

SOL? Im thinking this is "Sorry" out of luck, but replace sorry with something else lol.

Damn, anyway to get around DNAS protection? Or is there a new mod that can fake it or something???

Looking for any solution here

Yeah you got it.:)

There is no work around. You must use your original.

What is DNAS and how does it work. Can there be a solution in the future?

Sigh, really wanted to play some online games as well... not spending 80$(canadian) for socom 2 for my ps2 to scratch it up in 2 weeks....

What about swap discs? use the original to get the game started then switch dvds once in the game? I dont know would love a work around but i guess at this momment in time its impossible...

Read the link I posted above.

It explains all that. Its not as simple as doing a swap.

to bad there was no way to load a original till u get online then swap it with a backup but theres no telling how many times the DNSA checks the disk when its online

If people would read the sticky and use a little common sense. You would realize that you need a modchip to load a backup and since one of the first things DNAS checks is for a modchip you cant load your backup.

What is needed is a separate type of server that mimics the PS2 servers for people with modchips to play on.

Now that would be awesome :)

Is there a way to start up private servers for maybe a small lan or something of friends? I dont mind if I cant play with kids from india and china, i just wana play with some local friends.

yeah like my AR max i belive i can use my copy to download the codes. and yeah make a sever that lets u play ps2 games on it but its not made by sony :) they got them for pc games i seen were i could play C&C red aleart on westwood.com then also on another sever that had alot of dif games also but u could play it there to. even if they charge alil i would pay to play all my backups online :)
