There is a v9 Magic V and the Messiah 2 1.33, which is in production so it should be here soon. I would wait for the Messiah.

i was thinking that as well. Get a mars 2 does the same as a messiah 2 or wait a week and get a m2

For some reason they skipped 1.32. Not sure why.

Yeah....i think ill go with the magic. I have a Messiah 2 that i just found out won't work. So basicly got ripped off cause now i have no use for the Messiah chip with my V9. I guess ill take my chances with something else.

its been documented elsewhere on this forum that the M2 (v1.31) didn't work with the new US v9, so don't be surprised....

i'm definately holding out for the new revision of the M2, i've had my v9 for 6 weeks and i've been happy to wait patiently; i'm not about to give up hope on the M2 team any time soon...

Charlie, are you able to shed any light on the jump from v1.32 -> v.1.33 please?

hey all, I'm a newb when it comes to PS2...just picked one up a couple days ago.

when you refer to the "new" v9, does that include ALL models for that series? The retail packaging shows mine as a 50001/N/97016, but the side of the system is labelled as 50010/N. This one is the bundle box with NIC, game etc...

as far as I can tell, modchip.com carries a DMS3 v2 chip that "might" work on this system. if anyone can shed any more light on which chip I should be looking at, where it can be found, and if there is any soldering required.

finally, if someone knows of an installer based in Toronto/Canada region, please share!

thanks for any response posts.

thanks for the info, dust2dust.

sounds like the dms3 is coming in the next week or two...accurate? modchip.com shows it's available for purchase, i assume it's more of a pre-purchase...

any idea how complicated the install is? I have a sneaky suspicion that I will be hard-pressed to find a pro to do it for me in my area. a couple dozen wires? i've soldered before, sound cards, monitors etc, but I am far from an adept; i imagine that if as many people are doing this as I think, it can't be ALL that complex *looks to the heavens, prays a sec...*

any word on a no-solder badboy for the v9 ps2?

what would be your recommendation, fixit, for someone using a v9? how well are the magic v rated? I can't seem to find a reasonably local site (Earth) selling it  .

and do you have any input on the ease of installation for one of these "solder me damnit" chips?
