Yeah well hes probably making all his money back on the fuses. Those pnp chips are hella cheap.

It's usually down to the design. I came across one I got for a friend at a computer fair.....it worked but personally i wouldn't have put it in my machine....workmanship on the chip looked naf!

I've been using nosolder mod for over 12 months now and i'm a lazy ass git cause i can't be bothered getting anything better....plus i'm usually skint!

I honestly can't say either way mate, If he sells you the fuses and a replacement chip and then something more goes wrong he could end up saying you messed it up...so its ur problem..

I'm just sceptical as hell cause i've been ripped off in the past.

Plus, why the hell is he "SELLING" you them for if his product messed up your system?

If anything I would only pay for shipping.

good point tyler! Unless you know what ur doing i'd just take the ps2 back personally and tell him to sort it.
To be fair he's been honest enough to actually tell you that HIS MOD has blown the fuse. Just a bit funny how he's willing to tell you but not willing to repair without being paid.

EVO, You are going to have to totally disassemble the PS2 down to the MB to resolder the fuses. No way i would do this just to reinstall a no-solder which may blow them again. Get another apple pro or a Smartchip. If you can solder well enough to replace the fuses then Attempt the install yourself, If not send it to someone who can do the fuses as well as the no swap install for you.

How ironic, you now need to solder because of your no solder chip. I never understood no solder chips, they just prevent the mobo from detecting the tray. You popped the sticker, save yourself some money and just run the thing topless and swap n’ drop with the white hub thing. Even saves wear and tear on your tray motor.

Resoldering tiny microfuses aint the easiest thing. I wouldn’t think of BUYING any, they’re easy enough to find on scrap parts. Can’t find the right #, Two 15’s make a 30... sometimes it’s easier to use a bit of wire and piggyback it on the blown fuse than trying to solder the tiny thing directly on to the board . I lost a few flying out from tweezers, take your eyes off those little B******s and they’re gone forever.
