hi all

Just got my DVD burner (sony DW-U14A) and now I cant seem to play back and DVD's...

I have tried Windvd/powerdvd/WMP/Media Center and none of them work.

In windvd the dvd plays but there is no sound or picture....

Powerdvd just crashes my machine and reboots.

in wmp I get the following message:

Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because a problem occurred with digital copyright protection.

and in Media center I get:

Key exchange for DVD copy protection failed. Unable to play back this DVD

Whats going on?! and how do I fix it?

Thanks to all who respond.

OK son, first things first: greetings & welcome 2 the forum

Now, about the DVD U burnt - is it a BACKUP of a movie DVD (which I think it is) or just a home-made video? If it is the former, then I think your prob is perfectly normal - but solving it might call for a little more sublety...

thanks for the welcome!

I finally got it sorted now, downloaded power DVD 5 and it seems to work all fine now..

Basically the problem was with all my DVD's. I havent burned any movies of my own or made any copies at all, I was just wanting to watch some DVD's I had (original retail) and I got the error.

Sorted now but thanks loads!
