I have easily mastered the art of psx copying onto pretty much any disk. But my first attempt with a PS2 game has made me about 7 or 8 coasters. I have a PS2 (obviously) and a usbmodchip(got from modchip.com), action replay 2, so i can swap discs, I have a ricoh mp7060a cd writer and i have tried making copies of extreme G racing (PAL), using clone cd and cdrwin.
It will load up part way but when it loads for you to actually race the screen just blacks out and you can here the cd just spinning (seamingly forever).
Do I need to patch my games even though I have a usbmod? Do I need to patch this game? Do I need to use superior cdr's or will memorex do ok?
Surely my writer is fine for the job?
Please help me.

M8,

You will need to patch this game for your USB Mod. Check out www.megagames.com or www.eapatcher.com on there you will find the right pacth for that game.

I think that anyone who has the USB mods have to patch all there games, which means the best software to use would be CDR-Win. What are you using at the mo.

The best CDRs for backup are Verbatim Datalife Plus, TDK and SONY also good media not sure about the ones your using the though.

Goodluck
