no-cd crack

I have installed conflick desert storm 2 and down loaded the nocd patch .rar ,i did what it said to do and it does not work the patch does not overwrite the exe.
Can somebody the me how to get it working please.

extract exe to confict desert 2 dir it will ask you if you want to overright click yes

win rar is a commpresser for exe
