My Xbox has a really altered (I think) Evox dash. All of the menus and things I have seen in the tutorials here do not exist.
I have an Evox boot disk that I made. If I put it in it boots to the evox on the disc....if I take the disc out it goes back to what was there when I got it.
Can I delete what is there and install Exox from the disk I made??
simple answer yes you can have evolution x as you'r main dashboard.
in order to make evolution x you'r main dashboard you have a few options. for now i'll just state the two easiest.
1. find a copy of slayers auto install cd for evox.
it will install evolution x for you along with some other usefull apps. dont ask where to get it it's illegal !
2. create a network between you'r pc and xbox ( read the stickies all the info you need is there)
and manually place evox in the c folder rembering to rename the dash accourdingley. ( again see the stickies)
yes i know this may seem a little vague but this question has been answered hundereds of times and i know all the answers you seek are in the stickie posts.
if you still need help post back.

My biggest problem is this
When I boot using the evox disc I made I can see all of the things I should..including the ip and the fact that the xbox finds the network. I cannot ftp to it when it is booted using my disc for some reason.
When I boot it w/o this disc I have no idea what the IP address is becasue all of the menu options are different or gone. I have no way to FTP to it. The skin that is active does not show the IP address either.
Does the slayer program make a bootable cd that will overwright what is already on my hd??? If not I'm still kind of screwed becasue I cannot access my xbox from my pc.

I read in your other post that you had someone install all this stuff for you. Why cant you just call that person up and ask him/her what the IP is.
