Hi all,
Just bought Yager, would like to back up but do not have a dvd writer at the moment.
I know it`s possible to put on cdr`s, I have made an image in Alcohol 120%, which split it into 700mb chunks, should i just make one large image?
How do i then write this to cdr, the total size is only about 3.8gb, so i wont need loads of cd`s.
Am i right in thinking the data needs to be written in such a way that when the prog is installing it ask for certain cd`s to be inserted, cd 1 cd 2 etc how do i do that?
Any help please :)
Why don't you just use the Metal Gear Solid 2 DVD to CD backup Guide by CDKiller? It's a Sticky. All your questions are solved in there

Looks a bit complicated for me, is there an easier way?
What if when i`d made the image i compressed using winrar, and then saved it to a cdr would that work?
Thanks again :)
It will work, but each time you want install the game from your backup, you have to extract the dvd-image from the winrar-archive to your harddisc. Then mount that image in Alcohol120%/DaemonTools and install from there.
So you have a 3.8 GB image on your harddisc.
You should search for a noCD Crack then, so you can delete the image...

Sorry i`m a bit thick when it comes to using winrar, i am trying to compress this dvd as an image file, so i can fit it on a cdr, but even compressed it`s still too big..................
HELP
That's why you have to use WinRAR this way.
With WinRAR you can split the archive into 700 MByte-Pieces...

Hey guys having a real problem with this one,
I have an image file (alcohol) MDF FILE just over 4gb and also a MDS FILE 5kb..........
Do i select BOTH files for winrar to compress or just one???
When winrar has completed what order do i save the files to cdr`s???
I thought win rar made files smaller??
Help:confused:
You can choose:
1. WinRAR max compressing rate (will take much time, but not so much CDRs)
2. WinRAR only archiving / no compressing (will take more CDRs, but is faster)
In both ways, you have to choose the split option (700 MByte) !!!
